How to Rename BuddyPress Widgets and BuddyPress Menu Items

Recently I was developing some BuddyPress Sites for my clients. BuddyPress is fun, it is free and much better and easyer than most of these Social networking website scripts. But here is one of the biggest problem than I had to face with BuddyPress. This is very much annoying and frustating that There is no decent plugins to rename BuddyPress Widgets or you cant even rename BuddyPress Sticky menu with Members, Activity, Groups and Forums.

Here is the Solution that I have found for Renaming BuddyPress Widgets and Sticky Menu.

Login to your BuddyPress Dashboard.
Click on Appearance Tab to expand it. Than click on Editor Tab. It will open Default Style.css file. From The Right hand side of the panel click on Header.php

On BuddyPress BuddyPress Default: Header (header.php)

Find and replace following lines of the header.php. you can hit Ctrl+F to search in firefox or Chrome.

( ‘Activity’, ‘buddypress’ ) There you will find Two lines like these. Rename The Word ‘Activity’ with Anything you want such as Motions. If you find More than one (I think there are two. Rename Two of them.

( ‘Members’, ‘buddypress’ ) Rename ‘Members with Something else like ‘Petrons’

( ‘Groups’, ‘buddypress’ ) you can Rename the word ‘Groups’ With something like My Byddy’s or Something else.

( ‘Forums’, ‘buddypress’ ) here You only need to Rename The Word Forum (Only if you Wanted to. You may rename the word ‘Forums’ With Something like Parties.

So you have got the solution for Renaming Menu. The Next part is to Rename the Widgets of the BuddyPress.

From The Plugins Tab Click on Editor Tab. It is after Add New and Before Users Tab of the Left hand side of the dashboard.

On the top right side of the dashboard from Select plugin to edit:

Find and Replace Following Codes :-
Find ( ‘Newest’, ‘buddypress’ ) Replace the word ‘Newest’ with Whatever you like such as Latest

Find( ‘Popular’, ‘buddypress’ ) Replace the word ‘Popular’
Find( “Who’s Online Avatars”, ‘buddypress’ ) Replace the word ‘Who’s Online Avatars’
Find( ‘Members’, ‘buddypress’ ) Replace the word ‘Members’
Find( ‘Recently Active Member Avatars’, ‘buddypress’ ) Replace the word ‘Recently Active Member Avatars’

YAK for WordPress is a shopping cart plugin for WordPress which associates products with weblog entries.
YAK is an open source shopping cart plugin for WordPress. It associates products with weblog entries (in other words, posts), so the post ID also becomes the product code. It supports both pages and posts as products, handles different types of product through categorisation, and provides customisable purchase options (cheque or deposit, basic credit card form, basic Google Checkout integration, standard PayPal integration, PayPal Payments Pro, and Authorize.net).

YAK for WordPress Installation Manual

For full installation details, covering all the flexible options YAK has to offer (external payments gateway, such as PayPal, Authorize.net, etc), consider purchasing the YAK Installation Handbook. Download the zip distribution and unzip into your wp-content/plugins directory, or alternatively, in the WP dashboard, under plugins, select “Add New”, and enter YAK as the term to search for.Activate the plugin. You’ll now find a new menu group “YAK” containing: “Orders”, “Products”, “Sales Reports”, “General Options”, “Shipping Options”, “Misc Options” and “Sales Tax”. A new checkout page will have been automatically created (if not already present). You will also find two new categories have been created: one called “products”, and another subcategory, labelled “default”. This is like a marker for YAK products (mainly used for products of only one type). If you have products with different types (for example, you’re selling T-shirts in sizes large, medium and small), you’ll also need to create them as child categories of “products”. At the end of this process, you might have the sub-categories: “default” (automatically created for you), “large”, “medium”, “small”.Create a new landing page for a type of payment you wish to accept. There are a number of ways you can accept payment (including PayPal), but for the purposes of this basic introduction, we’ll stick with Deposit. Click “Add New”, in WordPress’s “Pages” section. Give the landing page a title, such as “Deposit”. For the content of the page, you should provide instructions on how a customer is to pay by deposit. For example:

Save this new page as before. Note that you’ll probably want to exclude these pages from the main menu — which you can do using the pluginExclude-Pages.

Configure how you want YAK to function, by clicking on the “General Options” link in the YAK menu. On the “Basic” tab:a. Enter a confirmation email address, if you want to send order confirmations (if so, you’ll also need to enter a confirmation message).b. If you want to display the checkout immediately when a customer clicks the Buy button, select your Checkout page from the drop down list for the option “Redirect on buy to”.c. Most importantly: select the “products” category from the dropdown “Product category name”, if it is not already selected.d. Click the Update Options button to save the changes.On the Products price/quantity tab:a. Set an automatic discount for your online products (if you don’t want to discount your products, set the fraction to 1).b. Enter a currency symbol ($, £, ¥, etc).c. Write a new post (Click on “Add New” in the Posts section).b. Give your product a meaningful title.c. Enter details about the product. Add the price to the post using the tag [yak_price], and add a buy button using the tag [yak_buy]. For example:
