Tips for Creating a Quick Shopping Cart

When you take your business online you need a shopping cart that you don't have to spend a lot of time to create. It can be difficult to find a simple shopping cart that is easy to set up and does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to operate. However, creating a shopping cart does not have to be difficult. It can be rather fun and interesting if you choose the right software.

Many website builders come with simple shopping cart software. However, you have to be careful which one you choose because they are not all the same. The best cart will be easy and fast to install on your website, and will perform all the functions you need including accepting payments from PayPal or on other merchant accounts. Make sure that the software or website builder you choose allows for this easy installation and integration into your website.

The first thing you need to do when creating a quick cart is gather all of your information together. You will need product numbers, descriptions, and prices at the very least. If you offer multiple colors or sizes you need this information as well. It can be extremely helpful to put all of this information into a spreadsheet. A truly simple cart will allow you to upload your products directly into the cart using a spreadsheet. Make sure that if you are going to use this method that you have set your spreadsheet up in a way that will be compatible with the software.

The next thing you need to do is get all of your products loaded into the cart. This may require that you enter them by hand, copying and pasting from your spreadsheet. Alternatively, you may be able to upload it. Either way, you need to make sure that all of your products are uploaded before your shopping cart goes live.

Once all of your products are inputted, you can move on to the next step of creating a shopping cart. You will need to input your PayPal information and formulate your PayPal button. This is done for you easily with a short form for your PayPal information when you use a simple shopping system. You will also need to input your merchant account information so that you can accept credit cards and electronic checks, if you have such merchant accounts. Again, this should be as easy as filling out an online form when you use quick shopping cart software.

After you have followed these steps you need only make your cart live. This can usually be accomplished with the click of a button. Keep your product list updated, and add products as they come into your company. You also must remember to keep track of your inventory and keep that updated on the site as well, especially if you sell offline as well as online. If you follow all of these steps, you should have no problems in creating a shopping cart easily and effectively.
