I've seen ads for auction sites like Quibids and Beezid that end up having ridiculously low prices. How are they able to sell items this way and still be able to make a profit?

The scam is you have to buy the bids. Every time you make a bid it costs you money. You could spend a $ 100 bidding on an item and not win it, along with everyone else who bids on that same item.
